Tracks and Locations

What specialized tracks are available?

Currently, we have the following cohorts available. Also, click here for locations, languages, and start years for upcoming Cohorts.
  • Collegiate Ministry – designed to equip collegiate ministers with the skills, understanding, and encouragement to take their ministry to the highest levels, whether on a local campus, in a church-based ministry, or at state or national levels of leadership.
  • Healthy Church - centered on the theology and practice of leading a healthy church and developing a strategic plan for becoming or remaining a healthy church.  Candidates will discover ways to break through personal, organizational, and cultural barriers that hinder health and growth in congregations.
  • Korean Bilingual – designed mainly for Korean ministers living in the U.S. The Korean Bilingual Cohort is essentially identical with  the Ministry Leadership Cohort (see below). The Korean program has the following distinctive elements: (1) Regular D.Min. faculty are joined by leading Korean-speaking practitioners in seminars. (2) The ministry project report may be submitted in either English or Korean. A 25- to 30-page long synopsis in English must accompany project reports submitted in Korean.
  • Ministry Coaching - integrates Golden Gate's celebrated doctoral process with a certification process in ministry coaching through the International Coaching Federation.  Coaching differs from consulting, counseling or mentoring in significant ways by engaging those being coached with respect as equals, while guiding them to identify for themselves actionable steps to accomplish their God-given purpose.
  • Ministry Leadership – provides men and women in all kinds of vocational ministry an opportunity to integrate theology, theories, skills, and personhood in the practice of ministry excellence.
  • Missions Administration– specialized for those who strategize and/or oversee mission enterprises on a church, associational, or national level.  Target is associational directors of missions, state directors of missions, language or ethnic mission leaders, ministers of missions, and other mission-related personnel.
  • Spiritual Leadership – helps ministers be renewed spiritually while they explore and integrate spiritual principles of leadership into their own lives and ministries, so they can lead others into a fresh and exciting journey of faith. Seminars will be held at the Canadian Southern Baptist Seminary in Cochrane, Alberta (near Calgary), Canada, and at Golden Gate Seminary’s Northern California Campus, near San Francisco.
