Early Childhood Education Certificate (ECE)
Offered only at the Northern California Campus.
The Early Childhood Education Certificate program provides students with the opportunity to focus 16 hours of academic study in Early Childhood Education in order to establish church preschools that meet not only the child care needs of a community, but also reach families for Christ through the local church. The courses are designed to comply with California state course requirements for preschool teachers and directors.
Students must complete Seminary entry requirements as a regular or special student. This certificate may be earned in addition to other degree plans or as a skill set without degree.
The program is designed for teachers and directors of church weekday preschool programs, directors of church day care, and ministers to preschool.

Each state has individual licensing requirements. The certification does not guarantee that requirements for licensing have been met. Transcripts of early childhood courses, verification of teaching experience in a licensed facility, and criminal clearance are part of the California procedure to qualify teachers and directors of licensed preschools.
The transfer of coursework into the ECE is governed by the GGBTS transfer policy. Please see the section on Transfer Credit for details.
