Master of Missiology
Master of Missiology (Urban or Global Specializations)
Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary has a long history of preparing men and women for missions. While studying at the Northern California Campus of Golden Gate, students learn and work in one of the most culturally and religiously diverse urban centers in the world, the San Francisco Bay Area. Our most comprehensive theological degree, the Master of Divinity (MDiv), has long been offered with a concentration in Missions using the Bay Area as a learning lab.
Several years ago Golden Gate Seminary also entered into an innovative partnership with Union University (UU), called the Global Studies Partnership (GSP), to deliver both a theological master’s degree and an intercultural studies degree in tandem. Unlike the three-year MDiv degree, the newly opened Master of Missiology is a two-year theological master's degree focused on Missiology and enables students to concentrate specifically on urban missions or on global, international missions. It may be taken as a stand-alone master’s degree, or may be paired with the Master of Arts in Intercultural Studies (MAIS) degree offered through UU as a part of the GSP.
