| Position Summary: |
The assistant teacher is a substitute position that works some part time hours and is on call. They are responsible for the cleanliness, safety and overall maintenance in the classroom. The assistant teacher is supervised by the lead teacher |
| Essential Duties and Responsibilities: |
Responsibility to Vision: Promote fundraisers Attend all school functions outside of regular school hours Promote positive relationships with co-workers, supervisors, parents and students Promote positive and edifying conversations with and concerning all persons related to the school Support mission statement of the school Demonstrate Christian walk and prayer
Responsibility to Finance: Communicate to the lead teacher any purchasing needs
Responsibility to Policy: Enforce classroom/ school policies stated in the parent handbook and policy manual Follow all policies stated in the staff handbook Refer parent concerns and discipline concerns to the lead teacher
Responsibility to Director: Provide professional and personal goals the first of every month Provide on Bible lesson plan per year for observation and evaluation Attend the Association of Christian Schools International conference each fall semester Good stewardship of your time Keep the school safe, clean and beautiful Direct complaints, observations or outstanding problems to the Director
Responsibility to Lead Teacher: Punctuality Preparing morning and afternoon snack Spraying and wiping down chairs, tables and counter tops Feeding and cleaning animal cages Cleaning restroom at assigned times Performing tasks for assigned jobs at appropriate times Maintain classroom control when lead teacher is talking with parents Report any injuries or student concerns Give parent messages to lead teacher Maintain classroom safety on a daily basis (covered plugs, disinfectant out of reach, no heavy objects stored over students’ heads, teacher personal items stored out of reach, teacher classroom supplies stored out of reach) Support lead teacher in promoting the classroom environment the curricular direction of GGA
Responsibility to Parents: Support teacher/ parent communication Greet families at drop-off/ pick-up times Provide positive feedback Participate in all school events
Responsibility to Students: Plan and implement a Bible lesson daily Maintain a safe and healthy classroom environment Assist students in academic tasks Provide age appropriate discipline Problem solve Maintain stocked first aid kits and earthquake/ disaster plans
